3 Best Beaches on Nisyros

The beaches in Nisyros Greece are both pebbled and sandy. The clean water and lush landscape provide great spots to relax and chill out. Most frequented Nisyros beaches are located on the northern side of the island and few of them are organized with a few sunbeds and umbrellas. You will find below a list of the 3 best beaches in our opinion Nisyros island.

Nisyros Island Beach

Lies Beach Nisyros:

A delightfully secluded beach with pebbles strewn across the sand and lovely surrounding, Lies is found 13 east of Mandraki, the capital of Nisyros. The beach spreads for more than 1 kilometer and consists of little coves formed by the sea over the years. The beach is totally exposed to the sun, as there is no natural shade and tourist facilities. Make sure to carry your own things for your protection and of course sun screen. There is a small tavern located at the end of the beach, which serves fresh fish for convenience and well worth a try.

Pali Beach Nisyros:

Pali is a long stretch of sand, sprinkled with dark pebbles. Located only 4 km east of the village, it is popular with locals and tourists but rarely crowded. A long trow of trees covers the coast which runs almost to the end of the beach.

The beach is easily accessible within a short walking distance from the main road. The sand slopes into the water quite smoothly thus it is ideal for children. facilities here are sparce so its perhaps a good idea to bring all the essentials you will need for this pleasant beach where the trees provide much needed shade.

Katsouni Beach Nisyros:

This gorgeous beach is located approximately 9 km east of Mandraki and a couple of km from Pali. Katsouni is the largest beach of Nisyros and consists of sand, pebbles and rocks offering visitors a quiet refuge amidst the beautiful surrounding. In close distance is the cape Katsouni, which is also a nice place for fishing. The cave is another interesting tourist site that is waiting to be explored. Just a word of warning there are no tourist facilities here, the beach is completely un-spoilt but this is what you came for right?
